CHIMAERA (aka Matt Sbrissa) is a Hamiltonian born and raised drag performer, designer, and researcher whose work fuses high-fashion spectacle with academic inquiry and advocacy. As a TEDx speaker, Chimaera presented original research examining drag as legitimate labor through an Industrial–Organizational (I-O) psychology lens, reframing drag as skilled, emotionally demanding, and often precarious work within the modern gig economy.
Their talk explores themes of compensation, workplace safety, identity, emotional labor, and the importance of chosen family—challenging narrow definitions of what “work” looks like in creative and queer industries.
Joining the Ontario Queer Chamber of Commerce means more than just networking; it's an invitation to become part of a vibrant, empowered community dedicated to supporting your business and professional growth.
Here, you'll find encouragement, meaningful connections, and endless opportunities to elevate your professional journey and empower your voice within a Community dedicated to growth, visibility, and collective achievement.
